Shot/ Reverse shot

I'm going to apologize right now if this blog post sounds weird, I watched the video, but I'm slightly stumped on how to explain, so yeah.
Anyway, the art of the shot is a hard art to master, and even harder to pin down. With so many different styles of camera shots, it's hard to explain how some styles work, but this video uses the Coen Brothers style of shots to explain this concept.
With the Coen Brothers, they commonly use a shot that gets you close and personal with the characters, and get across the emotions present in the scene. To do this with a conversation, the Coen Brothers set the camera in between the two characters, and give the characters their own shots and thus their own reactions. They also use the wide range camera for two different types of scenes, one it being used to exaggerate specific elements and emotion, or two to set up the scene, as well as setting emotion with the background.
Really, this is a great video that points out the true magic of the shot, and how hard it is to do. The video showed an example of how not to do this style, and how strange and out of place the shot was. All and all, this video is really good in explaining this type of camera work.
